Job Summary:
As an RN Float, you will play a vital role in coordinating patient care based on the nursing model. You will assess patients, develop personalized care plans, and evaluate responses to health issues. Your responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, delegating interventions to team members, and making recommendations that impact patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on patient and family needs, developing and adjusting nursing care plans for desired outcomes.
- Create a safe environment for patients, families, and staff, addressing emotional and physical pain to aid healing.
- Incorporate diversity and unique patient perspectives into care plans.
- Continuously educate patients, families, staff, and the community, evaluating and recording learning progress.
- Collaborate with the team and community to implement care plans, delegating tasks as needed.
- Solve problems efficiently, utilizing resources effectively while acknowledging limitations.
- Pursue professional development opportunities and contribute to community service.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in at least two levels of inpatient care (e.g., Med-Surg, Telemetry, PCU, or ICU).
- Telemetry through ICU experience is ideal.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- General computer proficiency.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on nursing experience.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Knowledge of nursing standards, patient care procedures, and relevant laws/regulations.
Schedule:
- Full-Time Nights (12-hour shifts).
- Weekend shifts required in each 6-week period.
- Holidays: One major and one minor holiday per year.
